I’m dedicated to creating world-class designs that are about the idea itself, not too many processes or budget. I’m of the opinion that strong outcomes come from knowing, and being focused on a vision. When we don’t believe the concept, even the most sophisticated systems don’t do the trick. My contribution, in the service of what the idea can and will be, is to give it meaning and value for its users that goes beyond aesthetics. That value then drives product’s growth and creates a connection that leads to greater user adoption and retention.
Because of the way I design through planning, wireframing, prototyping, and testing, you can adjust your ideas at every stage of iteration. This flow adds order and rigour to each project so that the end result is a unified, natural experience. On every job I attempt to take a concept and translate it into fun, user-focused digital experiences that marry function with form. REI Systems
2019-PresentSenior UI/UX Designer
Over the course of my years at REI Systems, I’ve
completed numerous high-impact projects, often in a
short time and with extreme stress. I’ve been awarded
three GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Awards for always going
above and beyond in high-profile projects. One of the
greatest things I did was to be on a team honored with
the 2021 ACT-IAC Igniting Innovation Award for
re-designing ACF’s Shepherd Case Management System
(SCMS). This was an especially powerful project because
it simplified the process of providing better support
for human trafficking victims so that resources could be
delivered to victims when they needed them. In
conjunction with the General Services Administration
(GSA), I also managed to re-engineer the ITVMO website
to make it more user-friendly and usable. I even worked
on a Generative AI policy for GSA and developed good
practices for AI use in government agencies.
I’ve worked on multiple federal partnerships, optimizing
tools that matter to healthcare and public safety. I’ve
been working for the Health Resources and Services
Administration (HRSA) on several projects that focused
on streamlining their Electronic Handbook (EHB) software
to streamline HRSA’s healthcare operations. As a Data
User Experience Engineer with the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA), I made Tableau dashboards more
accessible to decision-makers. I also wrote a Customer
Experience (CX) playbook, which earned a Clearmarks
Award and gives guidelines to improve user experiences
across all platforms. My focus on strong, impactful
design is expressed in the production of multiple style
guides and a ticketing system for UX support requests to
track and manage a growing number of requests.
Northrop Grumman
2018-2019UI/UX Designer
I worked at Northrop Grumman, where I helped design
tables and applications that are easy to read and
navigate through Tableau dashboards. I also oversaw
full-cycle UX efforts to re-design mission-critical
applications. I used Tableau to make complicated data
useful for stakeholders so that they could read and make
decisions based on it. I applied u/s-centric design
principles to build clean, cohesive dashboards that were
easier to find data and navigate.
Not only did I design dashboards but also used strict UX
methodologies for many applications rewrite, user
research, wireframes and prototypes and conducting
usability tests. These were all aimed at uncovering and
filling user pain points to create apps that weren’t
only better but also adapted to the needs and flows of
the user. It was a valuable experience that made me
realize I want to design impactful, efficient products
that give users a better experience and aid Northrop
Grumman’s business.
Capital One
2017-2018UI/UX Designer
I oversaw the design of a beautiful, intuitive UI to
make difficult financial concepts accessible and provide
simple instructions for anyone trying to manage their
money better. My priority was to have an intuitive,
clear user experience that provided information in a way
that could be easily navigated by everyone to get access
to important financial tools and resources. I designed a
clean and organized layout and used simple fonts and
images to help with usability so that users could simply
scroll through the page and get the information they
needed.
I also did user research and testing on content
structure and function, iterating upon feedback to
ensure the page was functional for a general audience.
My other focus was on responsive design, which means
optimizing the page for all devices so it can be used on
a desktop, tablet, and mobile device. This project
showcases my belief in the power of designing intuitive,
user-focused interfaces that function and look great so
that customers are more engaged with financial
management tools.
AOL
2016-2017Web & Graphic Designer
I worked for AOL, where I built visually appealing and
very practical websites, starting from elaborate mockups
in Photoshop. Such mockups provided the basis of all web
pages’ design for visual continuity and a UX focus. I
coordinated with application developers to develop
in-depth style sheets coordinating the visual and
navigation of the site, from design through to code. My
main concern was making sure the images matched the
technology to create a seamless user experience.
Working with other designers and developers, I worked on
a number of pages, merging design concepts and technical
execution. I had an extremely robust CSS framework in
place to provide design stability in different browsers
and tested each element to spot and fix compatibility
issues. I had a very clean and flexible CSS structure,
so the designs not only looked great but also ran
reliably on every device. It was an assignment that
taught me how to mix design and technical polish,
designing and building AOL’s web presence with careful
design and functional focus.
